Just a reminder that the Seabrook genealogy group, Digging Into Roots Together (D.I.R.T.), will meet on Wednesday, 9 March from 1:30 to 3:30PM in Osprey 2 at the Lake House. This week, Lynn Baker will be giving a detailed presentation on the RootsMagic and Family Tree Maker software during the first hour. He will give an overview of the way to build a tree using Ancestry.com and exporting it as a gedcom and the use of Family Tree Maker and Roots Magic–what is similar and where there are differences. He will also cover how to move information from one program to another. The discussion will cover choosing your software and producing an output.
The second hour will be spent on research. We encourage you to bring along your wi-fi enabled laptop or tablet.
If you are interested in genealogy and looking to network with others who share your passion, or would like some guidance getting started on your own family history journey, please join us. Each meeting someone will be available to provide assistance and answer questions. Further information can be found on the blog (diggingtogether.blogspot.com) or you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
