Bohicket Marina Adding Mexican Restaurant May 5th

nacha mama'sThere is a new Mexican restaurant opening in Bohicket Marina called Nacha Mama’s Taqueria.  The grand opening is scheduled for May 5, or Cinco de Mayo, as the Mexicans say. They plan a full celebration of the opening by featuring a local band, Ben Fagan and the Holy City Hooligans. Their hours will be 11am to 10pm seven days a week. Their location is next door to Red’s.

The restaurant plans to do a modern take on Mexican food, which they describe as all about the drizzle, or sauces as we might know them.  There will be many types of sauces including buffalo types, spicy salsa, tomatillo sesame sauce, citrus mango sauce and lots of avocado. They will be serving tacos, nachos, ceviche, burritos and fajitas.

They plan to emphasize their various brands of tequila and will be featuring flights of tequila, even making suggestions as to pairing tequila with various kinds of food.

Dewey Delovich is partnering with Paul Ferrell in this effort. Paul has owned four restaurants, including J. Paul’z and The Loophole. They have already done two special events in the restaurant, which they consider practice runs before opening up to the public at large.

The restaurant is in the process of being redecorated.  One of the things that is being added is an ample waiting area, where people can get drinks and hors d’oeuvres while waiting for their table. They will not be taking reservations except for large parties.
