Accident on Betsy Kerrison Pkwy May Cause Lane Closures

Mike Gorski of Island Transportation Services  reported that today at 11:30 am, Thursday, June 30 an accident occurred on Betsy Kerrison Parkway.

It happened across from Rosebank Farms, on the same side of the road as Rosebank.  It appeared to involve 3 cars and ambulances were responding as he called it in.

Drivers coming onto the island may experience delay.  Drivers going off the island may also see some slow downs.

Make some super snail slime and create a wonderful whale. These classes are designed for toddlers (18 months – 3 years) and a parent, grandparent, or friend to play and explore in The Charleston Museum. Each program includes four craft projects as well as finger paints, a puppet stage, a sandbox, and more. All classes are on Wednesdays from 10 – 11 a.m.

$6 for Museum members, $9 for Non-members. Price includes Museum admittance and program for one child and one adult.

Holiday Art & Crafts Show and Sale This Weekend

The Seabrook Artist Guild will hold their annual 4th of July Art and Crafts Show and Sale in The Live Oak Room at the Lake House as follows:

Friday from 5:00 TO 7:00 PM: Meet the artists and view/purchase some very creative and beautiful art while enjoying wine and appetizers!

Saturday from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM: All art, including oil paintings, watercolor, acrylics, photography, sculpture and crafts will be on sale!! So if you couldn’t make the reception, be sure to show up on Saturday before it’s all gone!!
Also, throughout the show on Saturday, three of Seabrook’s fine artists, who are in downtown galleries and teach art on the Islands, will be painting live. Come watch the creative process of Gary Kunkelman, Tina Maryland, and Bob LeFevre.

“Red, White and Boom” Fourth Parade Registration at Lake House

Hard to believe, but the Fourth of July is less than a week away.

This year’s Red, White, and Boom Fourth of July Parade will be held on Monday, July 4th. The Parade will begin at 9:30 AM from the Seabrook Village area. We ask that you register with The Lake House if you would like to participate in the parade.

Please note the following:

*Any type of vehicle allowed on Seabrook roads and able to maintain 10 mph may take part in the parade.

*For safety reasons, ALL bicycle riders must line up at the FRONT of the parade and should be able to complete the 6.7 mile parade loop at a speed of 6 MPH.

*Please do not throw candy/items from vehicles in the parade.

*ALL PARADE PARICIPANTS MUST BE IN LINE ON SEABROOK ISLAND ROAD IN THE SEABROOK VILLAGE AREA BY 9:00 AM.

Lake House Says Kid’s Triathlon is Full

The Red, White, and Boom Tri It Kids Triathlon is FULL.

We have reached the maximum number of participants and registration is now closed.

We are still looking for some wonderful volunteers to help out with the Kids Triathlon on Sunday, July 3rd.

Volunteers for the Tri It Kids Triathlon will be positioned throughout the race course (Outdoor Pool, around the Lake, on the bike path) to ensure the safety of the participants as well as guide and cheer them on through the course.

The event will begin at 8:00 AM and should be over by 10:00AM. Volunteers would be asked to meet at The Lake House at 7:00AM on Sunday, July 3rd for an information meeting.

Spectators are not only welcomed, but encouraged! Join us to cheer on these brave kids as they compete in the 2nd Fourth of July Tri It Kids Triathlon!!

July 3rd Fireworks Shuttle

LIMITED – NO PARKING AVAILABLE

DURING FIREWORKS ON JULY 3
AT ISLAND HOUSE

Two large buses will be running on a continuous shuttle loop.
One loop will go from Seabrook Island Real Estate to Island House and the other from the Lake House to the Island House. Each loop is expected to take about 25 minutes.

Guest Shuttle service will begin at 5:00 pm and the last loop will depart the Island House at 10:00 pm.

Free Shakespeare Workshop – July 3rd

Threshold Repertory Theatre is celebrating the Summer Shakespeare Program’s 5th year with Love’s Labour’s Lost. In collaboration with the full production we will be hosting a FREE Shakespeare Workshop taught by renown Shakespearian Actors and Co-Artistic Directors of Actor’s Theatre of SC, Clarence Felder and Chris Weatherhead.

The workshop will be held on July 3rd at Threshold Repertory Theatre from 1pm – 4pm. The workshop is FREE to the public and everyone is welcome to watch and/or participate.
