Disaster Awareness: Tools – Sign up for CodeRED

The Town of Seabrook offers a method for you to get Severe Weather Warnings via telephone, text and/or email by signing up for CodeRED.

According to the Town website “CodeRED Weather Warning is a unique service that automatically notifies citizens in the path of severe weather just moments after a warning has been issued by the National Weather Service. This limited CodeRED Weather Warning subscription is available to you at no direct cost.”

You can choose to receive notifications about tornadoes, severe thunderstorms and/or flash floods.  Please remember, hurricane notices can be several days out and you should take action before CodeRED announces any imminent danger.

To sign up, go to the Town of Seabrook website http://www.townofseabrookisland.org/

In the upper right-hand corner, click on the words “Emergency Preparedness.” At that point,  there is some valuable information as well as several buttons on the right side.  Click on the button that says “CodeRED” and sign up.  You will be notified by all of the methods you choose, phone, email and text to all the numbers you list.  You can limit the methods to just a couple or receive information on all of them.
