Letter to the Editor – Thank You

letter-clipart-dirp445i9

We wish to thank Janet Gorski, SIPOA President, and Ron Ciancio, Town of Seabrook Island Mayor, personally, and the POA and Town in general for the continuous dissemination of important information prior, during and after the hurricane. We felt informed throughout the entire period which certainly added to our comfort level while we were away, knowing “eyes” were on our Island.

We were amazed how “driveable” the streets were on Monday night. We couldn’t believe how quickly the streets had been cleared of enough debris that property owners could access their homes so quickly. And we were impressed how responsive Berkeley Electric was to the needs of our island residents. Kudos also to the Tidelines Staff for its timely and informative communication.

Moreover, what a wonderful community of which we are so blessed to be a part. Neighbors helping neighbors. This is Seabrook Island.

Thank you again Town, POA and fellow Seabrookers.

Lois and Ed Rinehimer, Seabrook Island, SC

Thank you from Bill & Nancy Bryant. Janet, Ron, and the SIPOA and Town leadership did a great job of coordinating the evacuation, the event, the return and our ongoing recovery. There are too many names to mention. Thank you Tidelines staff for keeping us informed and, even though we were evacuated, your ongoing communications were comforting and kept us informed. Our SI Security staff very professionally coordinated safety and traffic issues. The photo of the blocked entrance gate, after evacuation, was comforting, assuring residents that our island was protected. It is nice to have caring neighbors who work together as a community.

  11. Dick Wildermann says:

Well said, Lois and Ed. SIPOA, the Town and Berkeley Electric did a great job. Apparently we also should thank some folks who simply came onto the island right after the hurricane passed to help clean up. Who are you? Thank you.

Very classy note from the Rhinehimers and very well deserved recognition for those involved. We “watched” from Atlanta and this forum was our link to the Island. Cheers, Matt And Patty Burns
