Holiday Canned Food Drive at Midpoint

fullsizerender-jpgAs we reach the middle of November, the Holiday Canned Food Drive at The Lake House has already received donations totaling 1,521 pounds. As can be seen upon visiting The Lake House, this is an immense amount of food which will help to sustain through the holiday season our many neighbors struggling with hunger.

One of the local programs which will distribute our donations to Johns Island families is The Blessing Basket, an emergency grocery relief program operated by Stono Baptist Church at 953 Main Road, Johns Island. The Blessing Basket serves over 1,000 needy seniors and families. Our donations are going to make a positive impact on these less fortunate neighbors.

The goal of the Holiday Canned Food Drive is 2,000 pounds of canned food. As we begin our celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday, let’s not forget how fortunate we all are here at Seabrook. If you have already donated, please bring a few more cans to The Lake House. If you haven’t yet donated, please do so as soon as you possibly can. With your continued help, we CAN fight hunger in Johns Island!

Don’t forget, canned foods only, and please check the expiration dates on all your cans, before donating.

Please bring your contributions to The Lake House and place them behind the pillar under the “NEW CONTRIBUTIONS” sign. We will weigh them before they are added to the cans on display.

Thank you for your generosity in helping to provide holiday food for our less fortunate neighbors.
