The following is an abridged summary of the minutes from the November 2, 2016 Safety & Security meeting. A complete copy of the minutes is available in the archives section of the SIPOA website at http://www.associationvoice.com/ResourceCenter/15432/Library
Committee Discussion Topics:
• Due to the recovery from hurricane Matthew a formal meeting was not held in October, 2016.
• 15 mph speed limits: Although Dennis will recommend to the Board eliminating these signs and possibly replacing them with information signs (sharp curve, driveway ahead, etc.), these speed limits currently remain in effect until changes, if any, are actually approved and implemented.
SIPOA Security Report: Since no formal Safety & Security meeting was held in October, the incident reports and citations for both September and October are included in full November report.

All appeals were reviewed and/or heard and decisions were made based on the facts and merits of each case.
Motion: Following an appeal regarding a trash dumping issue, and much discussion by the Committee, Dennis will recommend to the SIPOA Board a clarification of the definition of “contractors” to exempt property management companies from that definition. This will give them authority to dispose of trash at the SIPOA facility on behalf of property owners, since the property owners they represent have already paid SIPOA fees for this service.
