“Trippin” Green Space Gala Style!

Nothing reveals Charleston’s charms like a downtown sojourn, and the Gentry get-a-way experience fits the bill to a Southern Sweet T. The lucky bidders will enjoy one night’s lodging for two in a King Loft at the Gentry Hotel. Located on Vendue Range, the restored 1803 building is just steps from Waterfront Park. First, your day will begin with a little pampering – a gentleman’s haircut and shave and a woman’s manicure and pedicure courtesy of the Gentry Spa. Dinner for two follows at the Gentry Club and includes appetizer, entrée, dessert, and chef’s choice of wine. The night ends with a little night music and the opportunity for after dinner dancing. Finally, a signed bottle of Gentry Bourbon from the owner and founder JD Madison is an ideal parting gift and memento of a fabulous stay.

Charleston a little too far for a few of you partygoers?  Sometimes getting away can be just around the corner.  For one night, 20 lucky Seabrookers will be “Living la Vida Loca” when festive lighting and decor magically transform the Oyster Catcher Community Center into a Caribbean/Latin oasis. Veteran party throwers Jeri and Fred Finke, Sharon and Glenn Carter, and Bob Norris are once again combining their culinary and mixology skills to create a night to remember. Did you know there are four types of rum? You can bet your Bahamian Dollar that the libation wizards will feature each in a delectable specialty cocktail. A variety of tantalizing homemade Latin and Caribbean foods will complete the menu. No Rum-Ba-Bash, however, is complete without a little swivel and sizzle. The evening’s Latin music and professional dance demonstration might just set your toes a tapping!

If “La dolce vita” is more your style, the Gala is offering a much more tranquil travel opportunity. Manciano is a picturesque and charming hillside village in southern Tuscany. unnamed-1

It is just one and a half hours north of Rome, a few hours south of Florence and a half of mile from the Mediterranean Ocean. It’s oldest portions date back before the 12th century. You may select one of eleven villas for a week-long stay for four for $2800. Each feature 2-3 bedrooms; most have two baths with shower, a living room, and kitchen. Many include an outdoor patio, garden or terrace. Each unique property offers special charms and is impeccably furnished. The town is accessible by bus, train or private car from the airport in Rome. The villa owners live in Atlanta, Georgia and only rent their properties through nonprofit organizations. Sightseeing suggestions and arrangements are readily available as the owner’s daughter lives in the village and her husband is a driver for hire. Because Green Space can offer multiple vacations, everyone has a chance to come away from the Gala with an opportunity to support the Conservancy while planning the trip of a lifetime. Several of your Seabrook neighbors have taken this Bellissimo trip. We will have an information table at the Gala to answer your questions about this holiday to remember under the Tuscan Sun. Ciao!
