Respite Care Charleston (RCC) is proud to announce the launch of its new and improved website: respitecarecharleston.org. Link to it and you will see many familiar faces.
RCC enhances the quality of life for individuals with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia through social day programs, caregiver support groups, and community education regarding dementia and the benefits of respite care.
RCC has been a great resource to those on this Island with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers. This disease has no cure and the day programs give the caregivers a few hours to themselves while providing mental stimulation, gentle exercise, and fun-filled activities for their loved ones. The support groups provide a safe place to laugh, cry, and learn from others who “truly know.” Many Seabrookers have volunteered their time and talent for this organization, including assisting with social day programs, providing art therapy, educating the public about RCC and serving on its Board of Directors. In both 2015 and 2016, RCC was the recipient of the Fleming Fundraising Initiative.
RCC sends a message of sincere gratitude to Seabrook!
