Recycle Your Unused Household Items

Before you put your unused furniture or other items on the curb for Brown and White Pick up on Friday, consider recycling it – and getting a tax deduction at the same time!

Sea Island Habitat for Humanity Restore at 3304 Maybank Highway is the place to donate the following:

  • furniture: living, dining, bedroom and office
  • appliances & electronics: clean and in working condition
  • housewares: dishes, pots, pans, utensils, paintings, lamps, books, mirrors, etc.
  • building materials: kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, doors, tile, etc
  • vehicles and boats

You can drop them off or they will  come and pick up these treasures.  Contact the store at 843-559-4009 to arrange a convenient time.

In addition, Habitat offers deconstruction services for your remodeling projects.  Again, these donated items are tax deductible.

Visit their website  http://www.seaislandhabitat.org/  and click on “Restore” for donation and deconstruction information.
