Hurricane Irma, Update #2 from the Town of Seabrook Island, September 6 at 2pm

Irma is now expected to turn north before reaching Florida and move up the east coast of Florida and the Carolinas. The impact on Seabrook Island is expected to begin late Sunday, peak through Monday, and wind down Tuesday. Storm surge and wind impact may be severe depending on how close to our shore the storm tracks

Governor McMaster has issued a state wide state of emergency order and it’s reasonable to expect a coastal evacuation order this weekend. Seabrookers are advised to accelerate their plans; evacuation before the weekend is adviseable.
