Town Of Seabrook Island Update

TOWN OF SEABROOK ISLAND Hurricane Irma UPDATE No. 5

September  9, 2017,    Time 10:00 am

Irma continues to track west. There has not been an evacuation order for Charleston County, and it appears unlikely that there will be.

Tropical storm force winds and flooding still likely.

The Town continues to be in contact with Berkeley Electric. They told us that power outages are still possible. Areas closer to the Edisto inlet are more likely to be affected. If the power is cut, minimize sewer use—showers, toilets, dishwashers etc, to reduce strain on the sewer system.

Further updates this afternoon.

For emergency response, call 911.

For questions concerning non-emergency assistance during a state of emergency, call the Charleston County Citizen’s Information Hot Line at 843-746-3900.

For updates in status, call the Town’s toll-free number 888-314-3177, or connect to the Town’s website (townofseabrookisland.org) and monitor the Town’s TWITTER feed (@seabrookislnd87) for announcements of availability of information updates.

PROPERTY OWNERS WITH RENTAL GUESTS SHOULD FORWARD THIS NOTICE TO THEIR RENTAL GUESTS.

Additional information updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
