Town of Seabrook Island Winter Weather Advisory Update – January 4

Representatives of the Town took part in a Charleston County conference call at 10:00 am on 4 January. Charleston County offices remain closed and a determination will be made later 4 January about opening offices on Friday, 5 January. Bees Ferry landfill remains closed 4 January. Town Hall remains closed 4 January and a decision will be made after 3:00 pm about opening offices on 5 January.

SC DOT is working to clear the main roads. Both St. Johns Fire District and SC DOT report that Bohicket Road is very icy. SC DOT does not know when their road clearing efforts will reach Bohicket Road. While there will be some natural melting during the daylight hours, it is expected that roads will remain icy with sub-freezing overnight temperatures. Residents are urged not to drive.

Representatives of the Town expect to participate in a Charleston County conference call at 3:00 pm 4 January and a further update will be issued thereafter.
