The Post and Courier has reported that there will be nighttime lane closures on Maybank Highway between Johns and James Islands over the next several months.
The road work is part of the Maybank Highway Improvements Project and involves paving, curb and cutter work. They will be repaving the existing lanes from the Paul J. Gelegotis Bridge to the existing right turn lane at the intersection of River Road.
Lane closures will begin at 8:00 pm and end at 6:00 am, Monday through Friday, and from 7:00 pm to 8:00 am Saturdays and Sundays. There will be one lane in each direction remaining open.
