Engineering Updates from the e-blast:

Boardwalk 1 Update

The construction at Boardwalk 1 is complete!  This week the final piece was completed when the new handicap accessible shower station was installed.  The boardwalk structure was replaced over the winter with new piles and ipe decking.  Four handicap parking spaces were added adjacent to the boardwalk along with additional bicycle parking.  Two new handicap accessible portable restrooms were also delivered.  We hope you enjoy the renovated boardwalk access this summer!

Leaf Collection Update

We concluding our street sweeping and leaf collection efforts last week.  The picture above shows a portion of the pile of leaf debris that was collected and kept out of our stormwater drainage piping and ponds.  Overall we collected over 200 cubic yards (approximately 15 dump trucks) of leaf debris!

The boardwalk looks terrific and is clearly well constructed. The new shower is great. It’s in an ideal location and is an excellent design with three easy-to-operate shower heads at three heights. The boardwalk, shower, and handicap parking and access are very nice enhancements to north beach.
