SINHG Dines on Upper King

Fifteen SINHG members sampled the culinary attractions of Upper King Street in downtown Charleston last week hosted by Guild Hollowell of Culinary Tours. This SINHG Trip combined a tasting tour of such Upper King restaurants as Rue St. Jean, HoM and Smoke, finishing with an ice cream stop (pictured) at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream. Along the way, SINHG’ers learned some of the history of Upper King’s buildings, including the William Aitken House with its beautiful gardens and wrought iron gate by famed Charleston metal worker Phillip Simmons.

This spring’s schedule of SINHG Trips, open to all SINHG members, continues through next month. http://sinhg.org
