NV Realty Group will host an artist reception and exhibit of the work of Sharlyne Duffy of Kiawah Island on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 4:30pm to 7pm. All local residents and friends are invited! This is the real estate office’s fifth event in their Local Art Initiative series which benefits the campaign to build the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital. As members of the island communities, NV Realty Group supports both local artists and their primary charities. All artwork will be for sale by the artist and 25% of all sales will be donated to the cause.

Sharlyne Duffy is a local Kiawah Island artist. She is a member of the Charleston Art Guild, the Kiawah Residents Art Guild and the Seabrook Art Guild. “I was inspired to paint after moving to the Lowcountry almost 20 years ago. My first lessons were from Martin Ahrens and Patricia Roth. Weekly lessons led to weeks of classes at Arrowmont School of Art in Tennessee. I am inspired by the changing light and mood of the marsh. I love to paint storms and big moving clouds. Painting that beautiful peach sky and amazing sunsets brings me happiness. When people see my work, I’d like them to feel my emotion about this everchanging landscape.” She is very happy to paint commissions of the local landscape.
