Let’s Celebrate the 4th of July Together

The annual Fourth of July festivities are right around the corner! The Lake House and the Activities Committee are sponsoring the premier event on the day of the Fourth, the annual parade around the island. It’s a great opportunity to show your love for your country and put your patriotism on display for all to see. The parade itself doesn’t start until 9:30 am but prime spots in the line go early starting at the corner of Seabrook Island Road and Seabrook Island Road next to the Equestrian Center fields. You must be in a vehicle that is allowed on Seabrook roads and able to maintain 10 mph. Bike riders should be able to complete the 6.7-mile parade loop at a speed of 6 mph. Otherwise whatever rolls is fair game. There will be hotdogs, lemonade and lots of family fun at the finish line (the Lake House).

Please do not throw candy or other items from the vehicles. While it will no doubt be warm and the waterworks will flow, we would please ask that you be careful in choosing who and where you squirt and that you restrict the use of high powered water cannons and other potentially harmful devices. The safety of our fellow Seabrookers must be first and foremost in our thoughts. Additionally, please do not use water balloons as they frequently end up in our storm drains and can thus find their way to our ocean.

We look forward to seeing you all out there strutting your stuff for your country!
