Wednesday, June 27:
Judy Morr called with a crawl between boardwalks 2 & 3. Walkers were Jim & Jo Eisenhauer, Kathy Hanson and Judy Morr. Tim Morawski responded along with Terry Fansler and Sandy MacCoss. Tim found nest 20! The 113 eggs were moved to a safer location.
Sunday, July 1:
Karen Sewell called in a very long in and out crawl, with three body pits. Probers Mark and Valerie Doane were contacted to investigate. At that time, they already were probing a crawl further up the beach. It was similar to the other one, in and out and three body pits. Unfortunately, after probing and digging all six body pits, no eggs were found. Both crawls were marked as false crawls. Perhaps we will have wild nests at the end of the season.
Monday, July 2:
Mike Vinson, Rob Jerome, Gary Holtz and Cathrine Scully called in with a crawl 200 yards north of Boardwalk 6 and called back again a few minutes later with another crawl 100 yards south of Boardwalk 5. Linda and Bill Nelson responded with Linda finding Nest 21 at the first crawl and Bill locating Nest 22 at the second crawl. Rob and Cathrine moved the 100 eggs from Nest 21 to just south of Boardwalk 5 and Mike and Gary moved the 92 eggs from Nest 22 to just north of Boardwalk 5.
