August Goings On at the Library

John’s Island Regional Library has several interesting activities in August. Ongoing exhibits will include displays of Margaret Spackman’s awarding winning Lowcountry soft-sculpture “Sea Creatures,” Barbara Fox’s display of her travel photographs, and “Book-A-Librarian” where you can receive one-on-one help with technology issues such as learning how to use downloadable media on your tablet or smartphone.

In addition, there are several weekly events such as Trivia for Tweens and Teens, movies and story times. To see the full August calendar for dates and times, click here.  On the left, go to the drop-down box for branches and choose John’s Island Regional Libary. You can also see what is going on at the Main Library as well as the other branches by choosing those locations.

Featured this month is Write On! Literacy Celebration: African American Women, Literature and Spirituality on Thursday, August 2, at 11:00 am.

The Charleston County Public Library is a rich resource of events and lectures as well as traditional and downloadable media. If you don’t have a library card for CCPL, click here to find out how to get one.

The John’s Island Regional Library is located at 3531 Maybank Highway just past the Bi-Lo shopping center. You can call the library at (843) 559-1945 if you have questions about their programs and services.
