SC Voter Registration Extended

The South Carolina Board of Elections and Voter Registration has extended the deadline to Wednesday, October 17, 2018, to register to vote in the November elections. This is due to the problems many people have encountered as a result of Hurricane Florence.  The new deadline applies to everyone in South Carolina, even if they were not impacted by the storm, and is for registering in person, online or by mail.

To read more about this extension, go to www.scvotes.org. This website will also direct you to a site where you can check the status of your registration as well as updating any information.

Last month we posted an article about where and how to register to vote.  It also included information about absentee voting as well as what you need to bring with you when you vote.  Click here to read it again.

In addition to this voter registration extension, a few companies, such as credit cards and insurance agencies, have extended their due dates for payments.  If you are concerned about any payments that were due around the time of Hurricane Florence, check with that company.  Unfortunately, not all companies are doing this.
