27th Annual Latin American Festival
Dive into the vibrant Latin American culture for a day at the annual Latin American Festival,
Sunday, Oct. 14 at
North Charleston Wannamaker County Park located at
8888 University Blvd, North Charleston, SC 29406
This popular event lasts from 12 – 6 p.m. and will feature Latin American music, dance, art, food and children’s activities. Plena Libre will headline this festival followed by various musical performances and demonstrations by Latin America’s best artists. Those whose genre of music is tropical pop, we have the perfect performance for you! UltimaNota will keep dancers on their feet with their tropical rhythms accented with a fresh and modern twist. Following this stellar performance, Kimberly La Guerrera will keep the crowd grooving with her regional mexicano music that simply cannot be missed!
Capoeira Charleston will captivate the audiences by showcasing their unique acrobatic skills. This Brazilian Martial Arts group features 500-year-old acrobatic tricks, interactions and musical instruments to engage and educate the audience on all the Capoeira art form has to offer. The Buen Ache Dance Group based out of Charleston will perform the Lowcountry’s best traditional Afro-Latino dances. This group specializes in telling stories through vibrant LatinFest2017-19performances that focus on the African contribution to Latino culture, music and dance. These performers come dressed in spectacular costumes and perform dances inspired from Cuban, Puerto Rican, and Carribbean culture.
