Sat. Oct 27 is Prescription Take Back Day

Vincent’s Drug Store, in partnership with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Department, will be participating in the DEA’s Annual Campaign to properly dispose of unneeded medications.

Drop off your unused medications at:

Vincent’s Drug Store, Freshfields Village
Saturday, October 27

between 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

This is the time to check your medicine cabinet for unused or expired prescriptions. Not only are they taking up space, but they can be harmful if someone else, other than whom they were prescribed for, accidentally takes them.

The problem is how to dispose of them. Throwing them in the trash is obviously not the solution. Once they are in the landfill, they can be picked up by people or animals. Flushing them down the drain can pollute the water system.

The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is a safe way to dispose of these prescription drugs. To read more about this initiative go to https://takebackday.dea.gov/
