Total Lunar Eclipse Tonight

A reminder that the Total Lunar Eclipse is tonight.

You will not need special glasses to see the eclipse. It will start around 9:36 pm EST on Sunday, January 20, start going into the umbra (the fully-shaded inner region of the shadow) around 11:41 pm. The moment of greatest eclipse will be around 12:12 am EST on Monday morning, January 21. As the Moon moves totally into the umbra, it becomes reddish-orange, thus it is called a Blood Moon.
