Activities Committee Minutes 1/7/19
Attending: Nic Porter, Janet Pasquale, Marsha Papenak, Rich Siegel (Chair), Roni Berttucci.
The meeting came to order at 10:00 am.
The minutes from November 6, 2018, were unanimously approved.
The committee reviewed the results from the canned food drive where almost 7,000 pounds of food was collected. It was hoped that next year we could drum up support from other Seabrook entities (Racquet Club, Equestrian Center, SIPOA office, Golf Club etc…) to create a little competition and further improve the results.
Nic reviewed the fitness equipment that was recently ordered with input from regular users.
Nic reviewed his ideas for a growth plan for the coming years in the Lake House.
The committee reviewed the suggestion for a filtered water fountain to replace the ice/water machine which finally bit the dust. After some discussion, the proposal was put on hold.
The committee discussed next year’s tree lighting ceremony and ways to make it a little more kid- and family-oriented. The committee also talked about the possibility of taking over the Polar Plunge from the Swim Club.
This will be the last meeting before the SIPOA Annual Meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 10:45 am.
