The Low Country Splash, now in its 18th year, is a major fundraiser for the LAPS swim lessons project. This year’s race, which was held on June 1st, included 446 swimmers and numerous box jelly fish because the water temp was a warm 83 degrees.
It was Jeff Pompe’s eighth year racing, while it was the fifth year swimming for Page Maxwell and Derek Fyfe. Derek was the second place finisher out of eight in his age group. Page was third in her’s and Jeff was sixth in his age group.
