On Friday, September 6, 2019, Berkeley Electric Cooperative (BEC) posted the following on their website:

9 am update – Outside crews are pouring in this morning as we prepare to continue restoration efforts. Our current outage count is approximately 35,000 members and dropping. Based on our best estimates we anticipate having the majority of our Moncks Corner and Goose Creek districts restored by the end of the day.

The Johns Island district suffered the most damage with at least 24 broken poles so we will be committing significant resources to that area. However, members in that district should plan for outages to extend into Saturday.

Members in our Awendaw district should also plan for outages to extend into Saturday. We will continue to provide updates throughout the day, however, this is a dynamic situation and we will not be able to provide a specific restoration timeline for your neighborhood or street.

Please keep in mind that this was a Category 3 hurricane that affected our entire service territory. We understand your frustration and our crews are working as quickly and as safely as possible.
