- Revolutionary Drayton Hall for Kids – September 14
Bring the whole family on Saturday, September 7 or September 14 to Drayton Hall to learn about the contributions made by the Draytons and the choices faced by everyone on the plantation during the tumultuous time of the Revolutionary War in Charleston and America. See how soldiers lived and learn of the many ways Drayton Hall was significant to patriots, loyalists, soldiers, and civilians during the Revolutionary War. This event will be held from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in the McDaniel Education Center at Drayton Hall and is well suited to children under the age of 12.

- Walking Tour of Post-Civil War Ashley River Road side Features of Drayton Hall’s Landscape – September 27
Curator Cameron Moon will lead a tour of the evolution of the Drayton Hall landscape close to Ashley River Road on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. She will take the group to areas never before interpreted at Drayton Hall to examine how the land was utilized from the colonial period to the 20th century.

- Butterfly Festival September 14
Magnolia’s first ever Butterfly Festival on Sunday, September 14 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm will delight all as they celebrate butterflies, bumblebees and other pollinators! Listen to guest speakers, participate in a demonstration, take a guided nature walk, and be dazzled by butterfly stilt walkers! Tagged butterflies will be released at the event as well! There will be lots of activities for butterfly enthusiasts of all ages. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in their best butterfly costume!

The largest adoption event in the Lowcountry returns to Magnolia Plantation and Gardens from 2:00 – 5:00 pm on Sunday, September 15, 2019. Brought to you by Lowcountry Dog Magazine, Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Hollywood Feed.

- Book Talk: Grace Will Lead Us Home – September 29
Join author Jennifer Berry Hawes in the Middleton Place Pavilion for a discussion on her book Grace Will Lead Us Home: The Charleston Church Massacre and the Hard, Inspiring Journey to Forgiveness. The Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist’s book is a deeply moving work of narrative nonfiction on the tragic shootings at the Mother Emanuel AME church in Charleston, South Carolina focused on the lives of the victims of the 2015 massacre and their road to forgiveness.
The free talk will be held in the Pavilion on Sunday, September 29 at 5:00 pm and light refreshments will be served. Please sign up if you plan to attend.
