Laurie Meyer has lived and painted in Charleston for over thirty years. A lover of light and color effects in oil paint and water-color, Laurie challenges herself to create magical elements in each painting she completes. A primarily self-taught artist, Laurie has also studied with many local and nationally recognized master artists who subscribe to the concept of creating atmosphere and depth in an alla prima method.
Laurie has won many awards for her paintings, First Place at Piccolo Spoleto, Second Place for her entire body of work, and Third Place in 2014. Laurie is represented in Charleston, South Carolina by Hagan Fine Art and the Meyer Vogl Gallery, as well as in Beaufort, SC, and in New Bern and Greenville, NC.
