TAI CHI for Health and Rehabilitation Semi-Private Series

The focus of this Tai Chi program is fall prevention by means of developing muscle and cardio strength/endurance; increasing range of motion and flexibility; and mindful activity for improving right/left brain health via Dr. Paul Lam’s Tai Chi Rehabilitation. Throughout the class, participants will learn the Tai Chi principles and how to apply the principles to your Tai Chi form.
Please note, space in this semi-private series is limited to 10 participants and preregistration is required. Registration for the series includes the classes listed. Semi-private series are not included in the monthly class pass. The fee will be charged to your Property Owner/ Club account. No drop-ins. This series is available to Seabrook Island Property Owners, Seabrook Island Club members, and guests staying on Seabrook Island.

Are you ready to move with more confidence and stability? It’s time to gain that extra step by challenging and improving your core, posture, and balance through functional exercises.
Join Stacey Richardson for this great semi-private series to gain the functional strength and range of motion that will make all movements attainable. Functional movements are essential components in all stages of life. Providing confidence and greater performance in all activities in one’s daily life while helping to prevent injury is the focus of this workshop. Everyday activities such as lifting groceries, being able to sit and stand, even moving flower pots, take strength and balance.
It is worth noting that participants may register for both Mondays and Thursdays to reap the benefits of these exercises even more!!

Barre Stretch is a workout designed to stretch, relieve, and restore sore muscles. As a mindful routine, this 50 minute program incorporates dynamic and static stretching with a touch of classic Barre exercises to give a totally rejuvenating workout performed at a slower, steady pace predominantly on the mat. This style of workout has been shown to improve flexibility, balance, and overall wellness to regular participants. YOGA FOR BONE HEALTH AND POSTURE Workshop

If you have osteopenia, osteoporosis or concerned about bone health, this yoga workshop may be for you. The goal of the class is to introduce a series of yoga poses chosen to build bone, strengthen muscle, increase flexibility, improve balance, and posture.
Ava Koren (RYT-300), who is certified in teaching yoga for osteoporosis using Dr. Loren Fishman’s method, will be guiding participants through poses selected to build healthy bone. Each pose will be taught in 3 versions: beginner, transitional and classical. Guidance will be provided to each student at that person’s comfort level and guidelines given for safely advancing through the series. The science behind the chosen yoga poses and adaptations to allow every participant to participate to their fullest potential will be provided. The Yoga for Bone Health – Intermediate at 9:00 am is designed for those who have previously taken the Yoga for Bone Health Series or Workshop and desire to sharpen their practice. Individuals with a regular yoga practice are also welcome to learn how this yoga practice can help build bone, strengthen muscle, increase flexibility, improve balance, and posture. The second series of Dr. Fishman’s poses with also be introduced.
The Yoga for Bone Health – Beginner at 10:05 am is designed for those new to yoga and those with just a little yoga experience.
The cost for each Yoga for Bone Health semi-private series is $48 per participant. Please note, registration for a series includes all four classes of the same level. Each class size limited to 10 participants. These workshops and semi-private series are not included in the monthly class pass. There are NO refunds. Fee will be charged to your Property Owner/Club Account. Semi Private classes are open to Seabrook Island Property Owners and guests staying on Seabrook Island.
