While SIPOA does not have a large staff, many of them are fairly visible in the community. But there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes that perhaps we might take for granted. Lots of that is done by Allison Townsley, officially our Finance and HR Administrator.
Her responsibilities include the monthly financials, payroll, the yearly audit and working with the auditors; all aspects of human resources; preparing the annual assessments; assisting in budget preparation and handling all accounts payable and receivable. It is quite a workload.
Allison came to Seabrook in 2008 as the Assistant Finance officer under Bob Hamblin. She grew up in Fredericksburg, VA, and attended Virginia Tech before moving to and taking a job in Phoenix, AZ. Allison had vacationed in the Lowcountry and decided to move back east, working in Mount Pleasant for a UK company. While on her commute to and from her James Island home, she enjoys a wide variety of audio books. Allison is also a travel buff with a particular interest in our national parks.
While you may not run into Allison any time soon, it is clear that she is an important contributor to the well-being of our home here in Seabrook. Her tireless efforts should not go unnoticed.
