Many new to SC don’t know that “South Carolina has an open primary system. This means that any registered voter may cast a ballot in either party’s primary–but not both,” as reported by Caitlin Byrd for The Post and Courier. The deadline to register to vote in the South Carolina February 29 Democratic presidential primary is Thursday, January 30, 2020.
