Due to COVID-19, British Sporting Art from the Penkhus Collection Exhibition showing in the Gibbes galleries 2 and 3 will be extended until October 4, 2020. The exhibit features exceptional British sporting and country paintings from the private collection of Seabrook Island residents Dr. Stephen and Mrs. Martha Penkhus. The collection spans over 200 years and includes paintings by notable artists including James Ward, J.F. Herring Sr., Sir Alfred Munnings, Rosa Bonheur, and many more.
