The unprecedented COVID19 pandemic has taken its toll on museums and other cultural sites, which are reliant on visitor revenues to maintain their operating budgets and accomplish their worthy educational missions. According to a recent survey conducted by the American Alliance of Museums, one in six museums across the country could fail due to the financial crisis brought on by the pandemic. Museum Mile Month is a great way to support the local museum community as all proceeds directly benefit the non-profit organizations that comprise the Museum Mile.

COVID19 Alert – Participation by each site and hours of operation are subject to change due to the changing circumstances related to the coronavirus. Please check with each individual site concerning operating hours and safety protocols as you plan your month exploring downtown Charleston’s most incredible cultural sites.
