Spotlight on Karyn Buckley from SIPOA Staff

During the recent pandemic/housing boom on Seabrook Island, the number of requests for commercial access – and the subsequent number of commercial vehicles entering the island – has exploded. Helping manage that tide is our former SIPOA receptionist, and now Commercial Access Coordinator, Karyn Buckley.

Karyn grew up on Cape Cod in a large family with seven brothers and no sisters. After working in banking for many years, she and her husband, Billy, a boat captain who works at the Kiawah Boat Club, moved to Key West to enjoy the sunshine. While she was in Marathon in the Florida Keys, Karyn worked in banking but really enjoyed working with wildlife rescue groups there. They discovered Seabrook when they were forced to evacuate during a hurricane.

Family is very important to them so Karyn and Billy live on Johns Island next door to relatives and enjoy kayaking and traveling all around the east coast in their RV.
