Habitat Golf Tournament a Huge Success

It doesn’t get any better than playing golf at a beautiful course while raising money for a great cause.

There were 104 players participating this year in the Habitat for Humanity 25th Annual Golf Tournament hosted at Briar’s Creek. The tournament sold out in a week and raised over $63,000 to help pay the construction costs of a place a family can call home. Homeowners assist in the construction of their homes alongside volunteers and the money raised at events like this golf tournament enables them to have an affordable mortgage.

Many thanks to Gail Kavanaugh (pictured on the right) for all her work in chairing the event.

The tournament was generously sponsored by The Kelly Family Foundation and other local partners including Dolphin Construction, Doug & Terri Pauls, Bill & Pat Greubel, and many others. It consisted of a captain’s choice/scramble format and fun contests such as straightest drive, closest to the pin, a putting contest as well as a hole-in-one prize. They also had a reception after the game and fun door prizes provided by local businesses.
