When the heat is so oppressive that you don’t even want to move, how do Seabrookers stay active? Get into the water! Play water volleyball in the outdoor pool with the Seabrook Island Spikers. They will be meeting a few times per month as well as having a Happy Hour at 5:00 pm on Sunday, September 12, and Sunday, September 26. For more information email Michelle Evans at media51392@gmail.com.
Another Semi-Private series is on the books. Sit Down and Get It will meet one day per week on Fridays at 11:30 am from September 10 to October 15. The cost is $72.00 for the series. The class offers all the benefits of standing exercise, without the risk. Chair exercises will keep your joints flexible, improving your range of motion and mobility. They also strengthen and stabilize your muscles, resulting in improved balance, which is key for preventing falls and injuries. After a few weeks of regular chair exercise, you can expect to see an improvement in your health and fitness. This series is taught by Alison Standard.
Check out a full listing of the Semi-Private Series at sipoa.org.
NOTE: The following classes will be canceled on Thursday, September 23, for the Blood Drive:
Get Pumped at 11:00 am
30/30 Cardio Stretch at 12:00 noon
