Entryway Landscaped Median and Crosswalk Project Update

SIPOA has implemented an island entrance enhancement project to provide a safer and more aesthetic entryway onto Seabrook Island.

The scope of work includes a new landscaped median from the equestrian center to just passed the intersection of Seabrook Island Rd and Seabrook Island Rd. It will also include a new crosswalk with flashing pedestrian lights to allow for a safe place to cross Seabrook Island Rd.

Site preparation and demolition have begun. A new concrete curb for the landscaped median will be installed during the week of March 7. Paving repairs and road striping is expected to be complete by March 25. Landscaping will be installed after that and should be completed by April 15 (weather permitting). Some traffic control will be set up during this time, but the entrance and exit lanes will remain open during construction.

Please be patient and exercise caution while driving in this area while we are working on making these improvements.  Click here to view images of this project.
