Hurricane Preparedness Week May 1-7

It’s that time of year; time to start preparing for hurricane season. While hurricane season doesn’t officially begin until June 1, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is encouraging everyone to get ready now.

Some things you can do now to be ready include determining your risk; developing your evacuation plan including those for pets; and talking with neighbors about their hurricane preparedness plans.

For more helpful information visit NOAA’s Hurricane Preparedness Week webpage. Be sure to check out the Hurricane Awareness webinars hosted by NOAA’s Southeast and Caribbean Regional Collaboration Team (SECART).

Let’s all be ready!
