Made With Love Seeks Volunteers

Do you have the heart to serve those in need, a desire for fellowship with terrific people, and an interest in doing various handicrafts? If so, Made With Love (MWL) may be for you!

We have projects for all skill levels to make items to give to Johns and Wadmalaw neighbors who need a little extra love. We have kits to make a variety of fleece-tie blankets for children and adults, including veterans. We have yarn and needles to knit and crochet scarves and hats for all ages. We sew a variety of cotton totes and small purses for seniors, teachers, parents, and moms-to-be (we even have a sewing machine and serger!). We make fleece lavender sachets, magnets, and other small items for appreciation gifts. We take donated used greeting cards and turn them into new cards and bookmarks for use by parents, teachers, and seniors. We compile toiletry packs for basic needs and special gifts. And for our furry neighbors in shelters, we make braided fleece pull toys.

And there’s more… but no matter what, it’s all Made With Love! Join us for Fleece + Fridays from 10-Noon in the KICA offices at 23 Beachwalker Drive (take the road on the right before Kiawah’s first gate — no pass needed! KICA’s office is up the road on the left). Made With Love is open to anyone. We have members from Johns, Wadmalaw, James, Kiawah, and Seabrook Islands. and a few far-flung members as well.

Made With Love is a program of Kiawah Cares Foundation. Want more info? Email Made With Love Coordinator Donna Porritt at dporritt@att.net
