The 38th Annual Alan Fleming Charity Tennis
Tournament will be held October 5-9. This year the Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic, located on Johns Island, is the beneficiary of our online silent auction. Along with the auction we are planning a “Wine Pull” where everyone is a winner!
We are seeking donations of bottled wine (no boxes please) with a value of at least $20. If you would like to donate a bottle (or more), both
the Racquet Club and the Lake House have collection boxes. Final
collection pickup will be at 5:30 pm on Monday, October 3. The ‘Wine Pull” will be an ongoing event at the Racquet Club during the tournament from Thursday October 6 through Sunday October 9
This event was so successful last year. Thanks to the the community’s help
there were over 80 bottles donated. We wrap and number each
bottle, have numbered balls to pick from and for $20 (cash or charge)
a player chooses a ball and wins the corresponding bottle. All proceeds
go directly to the Medical Clinic.
The generosity of the Seabrook Island community continues to make a
difference outside our gate, something we can all be proud of. The
mission of the clinic is to understand and serve the health and
wellness needs of the uninsured, low-income adults who live and work
on Johns, James and Wadmalaw Islands. This volunteer based clinic of
doctors, nurses, and support staff currently treats over 5,000
patients.
Thank you for your help!
