1:30 pm
The Lake House – Live Oak Hall
Born at Camp LeJeune, N.C., Susan was raised in Toledo, Ohio. As a youngster she was enrolled in classes at the Toledo Museum of Art, and as a teenager she had her first solo exhibition at a Toledo art gallery.
After moving to Zurich, Switzerland with her family, her love of art became an obsession. She was exposed to the Great Masters as she and her family traveled throughout Europe. Susan earned her BFA in painting and graphic art from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Susan worked in social work and as an artist for advertising agencies in Ohio, California and New York.
Years ago, she moved to Charleston, the home of her great-grandparents. Living in Charleston brought back beautiful childhood memories of crabbing, pluff mud, and grandma’s fried chicken. Susan states, “The Lowcountry is a continual source of inspiration because I am moved by the ever-changing light and softness I feel in the atmosphere.”

Susan has been represented by galleries in South and North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Virginia. She currently is represented by the Meyer-Vogl gallery in Charleston.
She is collected all over the world and is a member of AIS, American Impressionism Society and AWA; American Women Artist. Susan will demonstrate her impressionistic style on Tuesday, January 17, at 1:30 pm at The Lake House in the Live Oak Room.
