The Atlantic hurricane season that runs from June 1 to November 30 is quickly approaching! With South Carolina as one of the most vulnerable states in the nation to be impacted by hurricanes, emergency preparedness is especially important for residents of barrier island communities.

Disaster Awareness Day

The program will focus on hurricane preparedness covering preparation, evacuation, and return. Prizes will be raffled off throughout the event with the opportunity to win the “Grand Prize.” First ten attendees will receive a free NOAA weather radio. Reception and complimentary lunch will follow. No RSVP is required.
Don’t miss an opportunity to take a crash course in disaster preparedness and learn how our community will handle a disaster or hurricane scenario.
