The Feeding of the Multitude is an annual Johns Island event held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. During the event, Wadmalaw and Johns Island churches unite to provide free bags of food for a holiday meal, with each church supplying the food bags. Extra funds raised help purchase hot holiday meals for homebound church members and provide grocery gift certificates, allowing families to buy a turkey or other food items.
