SINHG Takes to the Water

Seabrook Island Natural History Group (SINGH) trips are underway for the fall after a slight delay from hurricane Florence, with two waterborne expeditions in September.

The Pirate Lady ferried nearly two dozen SINHG’ers from Andell Bluff on an exploration of the marshes and creeks along the Bohicket and North Edisto Rivers. The group observed dolphins strand feeding around Botany Island, studied prehistoric shell rings, and ventured part of the way up Privateer Creek, all under beautiful blue skies and mirror-still water.

A few days later, thirty SINHG members set sail from the Aquarium Wharf aboard the three-masted Schooner Pride for an evening cruise around Charleston Harbor, complete with a wine-tasting, and hors d’oeuvres provided by Executive Wines and Foodies Catering. A beautiful sunset was provided free of charge.
