SCDOT and Charleston County are planning to move ahead with the extension of I-526, known the Mark Clark Extension, with Alternative G. SCDOT has developed a comprehensive website where answers to many questions can be found. Click here for the main page. Residents ae encouraged to participate in the process.

“Have your questions answered and your voice heard on the Mark Clark Extension project by participating in one of the many Public Hearing outreach opportunities between August 18 and October 15, 2021. For your convenience, all Public Hearing materials will be available online, at the two community meetings (August 31 and September 1) and at the Public Hearing (September 14).”
The Town of Kiawah Island reported that there are two local meetings on Johns Island this weekend and on at the end of the month:
