This weekend, Kiawah will be hosting their annual Marathon and HalfMarathon. Last year over 4,000 people participated in these races, which are run entirely within the Kiawah gates.
Although many of the athletes are from Kiawah and Seabrook, many more will be coming for the weekend or the day. This will lead to possible road congestion on River Road, Main Road and/or Bohicket Road.
The schedule of events is as follows:
Thursday, December 10 from 4 pm to 7pm – Packet Pick up and MiniRace Expo
Friday, December 11 from 10 am to 8:30 pm – Packet Pick up and Race Expo.
Saturday, December 12 Race Day – Shuttle Parking starts at 5:30 am, Packet Pick up is from 6:30 am to 7:45 am and the Race Expo is from 6:30 am until 2 pm. The actual race starts at 8:00 am and is scheduled to finish around 2 pm.
Sunday, December 13 – Many people who came for the weekend will be leaving.
In addition to the above events, we anticipate Freshfields will be busy over the weekend.
