Presidential Preference Election Dates – February 20th and February 27th

The Presidential Elections are heating up and campaigning is at full speed.  The Presidential Preference Election dates are:

Republican: Saturday, February 20, and

Democratic: Saturday, February 27

Party Affiliation: South Carolina does not have registration by party. Voters may vote in either party’s primary, but not both. Voters should be prepared to tell election officials the primary in which they wish to vote.

Polling Place:  As usual, the Lake House will be the voting place for Seabrookers who are voters registered in South Carolina with an address on Seabrook Island.  You must present a government issued identification, such as your drivers license or passport, at the voting poll.  The polling place will be open from 7am to 7pm on each Presidential Preference Primary Election day.

Registration and Absentee Ballots: For information on voting in South Carolina, registration and absentee ballots, please go to http://www.scvotes.org/voter_information_brochures.  Absentee ballots can be obtained by calling 843-744-8683 or by going to absentee@charlestoncounty.org.  The deadline to register to vote is Jan 27th and the deadline for absentee ballots in is Feb 16th.

Curbside Voting:  Voters who are unable to access the polling place or stand in line to vote due to a disability or being age 65 or older may vote in their vehicle. Poll Managers monitor the designated parking area to look for curbside voters. The portability of the voting machine allows it to be brought to the vehicle.
