VENUE: Middleton Place

Gates and Beer Garden open at 3:30pm
Live music starts at 4:00pm
Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats performs at 8:30pm

Among those leading a revival of classic soul, Denver-based group Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats emphatically exude a deep, primal, and stirring soulfulness reminiscent of singers like Sam Cooke and Otis Redding. Nathaniel Rateliff, originally a solo singer-songwriter, formed the eight-piece soul band in 2013, and as a unit, they have broken into audacious new territory—effortlessly blending soul with rock and roll and earning such accolades as “one of rock’s best new live acts” (Rolling Stone). Their featured performance at the Festival Finale is sure to yield anenthusiastic response and send the audience home with a feeling of unbridled joy.

Arrive early to explore Middleton Place’s stunning landscaped gardens and enjoy refreshments from the Beer Garden while local and regional bands play the main stage throughout the afternoon. A performance schedule for live music prior to Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats will be posted at spoletousa.org. The evening will conclude with a spectacular display of post-concert fireworks bringing the 40th Festival to a celebratory close.

Middleton Place is located 14 miles from downtown Charleston. Seating is on the lawn and unreserved. The ticket price includes admittance to Middleton Place. Patrons are welcome to bring their own chairs, blankets, and picnics; food and beverage will also be available for purchase.

This event is rain or shine.  Children 5 and under are admitted free of charge.  Click here for tickets.
