Several property owners and residents have contacted SIPOA asking if the ‘mulch’ from storm debris in the pasture near the Equestrian Center can be available to them. The ‘mulch’ was created from storm debris collected by SIPOA and its contractors and includes different types of wood [not only hardwoods], pine cones, acorns and materials that were soaked by salt water. It may also contain shredded yard debris bags. Consequently, this material is not as clean as the bagged mulch one can purchase or the wood chip mulch that might be delivered from a landscaper.
SIPOA will make the material available to anyone who would like it while supplies last. While SIPOA cannot load trucks or deliver chips, property owners and residents are welcome to pick up ‘mulch’ at the pasture after 5 pm Monday through Saturday and any time on Sunday. These times are set for safety reasons so that people will not be picking up mulch while heavy equipment is being operated.
